Key Items (貴重品*)? are a special item type in the series.
Overview[]
Key items generally cannot be used in any way, but still play an essential role in moving the story forward. As such, their use is very restricted and short-term.
Not all key items are mandatory, and some are categorized as such to grant access to unique abilities that are unlocked simply for owning said item. Some items may also grant access to key information. Some of them may not have any special abilities or roles to move the story forward. Instead, they can be seen as a trinket that showcases that the player was able to complete a very hard task, such as the Double Bookmark gained after defeating the ultimate boss Caroline & Justine.
