Megami Ibunroku Persona
A haughty and rich old lady who lives in a mansion near St. Hermelin High School. She was actually very poor until recently but acquired a vast fortune through unknown means. As she was seen near the Mikage Ruins a lot prior to becoming rich, a rumor was soon spread that she was raiding the ruins in search of old artifacts to sell, although this theory is treated as mere gossip. Katsue has filled the Kaneda Mansion with her personal collection of antiques but is extremely paranoid that other people want to steal her treasure and treats everyone like a potential thief. According to Kei Nanjo, she doesn't collect antiques, and will instead buy anything expensive enough to label as such and add to her collection as an act of merely boasting about her fortune.
The real Maki Sonomura was hospitalized sometime between the ruin raider rumor spread and Katsue becoming rich, so her counterpart in Maki's Mikage-cho is an actual ruin raider but is still poor since she didn't find anything valuable in it. This counterpart's house is the same as Yuko Himeno's in the real Mikage-cho.
In Revelations, she is known as Mrs. Newrich.
- Katsue's surname Kaneda means "gold, money, metal, cash, currency" (金) (kane) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
