Katakirauwa is a malicious spirit of a piglet with one ear and red eyes. They have no shadow and most often have black skin. They can steal a person's soul by running through their legs.
"A creature of Amami Oshima lore that appears as a one-eared pig with no shadow. They are said to appear at night in front of people walking alone or in pairs, and if it runs between a person's legs, that person will die. If you run into one, cross your legs to keep it from passing through."
—Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey compendium
A Katakirauwa can be summoned by Horkos during his boss fight. It is weak to all status ailments. After the Katakirauwa sustains enough damage, he will eat it, which will kill it, while healing HP proportional to his ally's HP at the time of use. Horkos, however, may be inflicted with a status ailment should he eat a Katakirauwa inflicted with one before being eaten by him.

Katakirauwa appears in Kinshicho within Kinshi Park and later in the Shinjuku West Entrance Park. It is weak to every element except Gun and Darkness, having no resistances. It does not have any positive skill potentials either, only negative ones, a quality shared with no other demons in any game that features the mechanic. Manabu has Nanashi fight this demon as a battle tutorial. It can teach the Bouncing Claw and Lunge skills when leveled or otherwise be used as fusion fodder.
