History [ ] A Kappa is a mischievous freshwater imp, or youkai, in Japanese mythology. Their actions range from the mild, such as looking up women's kimonos, to the outright malevolent, such as drowning people and animals, kidnapping children, raping women and at times eating human flesh. Sometimes, they may behave amicably towards and befriend humans.
