Jose's Shop

Jose's Shop is a retail location in Persona 5 Royal. This article also covers information on flowers and stamps, their use and acquisition.

Profile[]

Decarabia SMT This topic is in need of research for the following reason:
* Double-check if post-Futaba's Palace shop updates on 8/30 or if it's delayed until 9/2. See Calendar/Persona 5 for details. Note item and list of P5R item articles need to be updated if any of the information below is changed.

This can be discussed on the article's talk page.

Jose appears randomly in Mementos, his presence indicated by a short cutscene of him driving past the Phantom Thieves after arriving on a floor. His position is then marked on the map, regardless of whether or not Futaba uses Mementos Scan.

Approaching him allows the protagonist to access his shop. He trades various items for the flowers found scattered throughout Mementos and can change the cognition of Mementos as a whole after the protagonist collects enough Stamps.

He will also automatically transform any Crystal obtained in a Palace into a Ring, but only after the Palace the Crystal is tied to has been destroyed. In New Game Plus files, Jose will change the party's Crystal of Sorrow, a third semester-exclusive item that can only be obtained from rejecting Maruki's proposition to join him, into its Ring form.

Flowers & Trade Items[]

Flowers are the shop's primary currency and can be found only within Mementos. Flowers can be found in search objects shaped like yellow-tinted orbs containing daffodil flowers, and while the amount is random upon obtaining them, their general amount is dependent on the area of Mementos the Thieves currently are:

Location Flowers
Path of Qimranut 2-5
Path of Aiyatsbus 3-6
Path of Chemdah 4-7
Path of Kaitul 5-8
Path of Akzeriyyuth 6-9
Path of Adyeshach 7-11
Path of Sheriruth 9-13
Path of Da'at 11-15

By collecting flowers, the protagonist can trade items with Jose. However, flowers can only be used for that day, and disappear once the group leaves Mementos. The number of flowers the protagonist can hold is capped at 999.

Once the players begin traversing into new sections of Mementos unlocked after completing Palaces and reaching their respective deadlines, Jose's Shop's contents will change upon diving into the new sections of Mementos, which includes new items available for sale, but some no longer being available.

Aside from special ailment and buff-based consumables, Jose's Shop sells SP-recovery items, Incenses, itemization materials and spare Will Seeds in case any were missed in the previous Palace.

While the number of items available for purchase is case by case, these items will always be refreshed between visits to Mementos, and any items that remain available for purchase upon stepping into new floors of Mementos will also be refreshed, even if or after players had purchased all those items beforehand, with the exception of the Path of Da'at in the Third Semester.

Stamps & Change Mementos[]

P5R JoseTrade

Trading Stamps with Jose to change the cognition of Mementos.

Upon meeting Jose the second time via opening the way to the Path of Aiyatsbus, Stamps become available. Each Mementos floor has a Stamp Podium at the end of each floor near the way further down, or up with regards to the Path of Da'at, and interacting with each one will yield a stamp.

Each path of Mementos has a fixed number of Stamps to be collected, the amount of which is visible upon opening any of the maps, either the current floor map or the Mementos Overview quick travel map. If/When that number is higher than the path's number of floors, additional Stamp Podiums will be randomly generated one per floor, usually hid behind doors or breakable walls, which will result in thorough combings of the floors and multiple trips up and down later floors to hunt down the randomly generated Podiums, as Podiums can only be used once.

Location Stamps

Path of Aiyatsbus 8
Path of Chemdah 10
Path of Kaitul 20
Path of Akzeriyyuth 25
Path of Adyeshach 30
Path of Sheriruth 30
Path of Da'at 40

By collecting and trading Stamps, the protagonist can spend points in exchange for certain alterations to Mementos' structure, with the more points in a category, the greater the effect. Collecting all 165 stamps is necessary to upgrade everything to its highest level, while only 150 are needed for the Thieves Den award.

If 123 stamps are collected (which is two shy from collecting all stamps between the Paths of Qimranut and Sheriruth), Jose appears at the end room of the Path of Da'at and offers to fight the Phantom Thieves as a bonus boss. To access the fight with Jose, one must have used the Cognitive Control Room at the end of the Path of Da'at for its plot-related purpose to advance going into Maruki's Palace, leave the Path entirely, then come back to find Jose in the room.

Maxing out one type of alteration is required to obtain the "The Search for Power" Trophy, with the easiest being the Item Bonuses.

The Item Bonus refers specifically to Search Object drops. The bonus boosts how many times a search object will drop an item, rather than how many of the same item will be dropped at a time.

Progress can be reset at any time and stamps can be returned, allowing players to reallocate their reclaimed stamps into the categories of their choosing. To do so, Jose will charge an expensive amount of flowers, and the amount is equivalent to how many stamps were already traded.

Upgrading Crystals[]

Main article: Will Seeds

By collecting Crystals borne of three Will Seeds, Jose can upgrade them into Rings, though so long as the Palace they are tied to are destroyed, otherwise, they stay as Crystals. Should any Will Seeds be missed after the destruction of a Palace, spare Will Seeds can be bought from Jose by trading flowers, albeit for an exorbitant price.
