Jahi is the Avestan language name of Zoroastrianism's demoness of "lasciviousness." Jahi is interpreted as "hussy," "rake," "libertine," "courtesan" and "one who leads a licentious life." Her standard epithet is "the Whore." In Zoroastrian lore Jahi appears as Jeh, the consort of Ahriman and the cause of the menstrual cycle.
"An evil witch of Zoroastrian lore, said to be Angra Mainyu's mistress. She is the cause of menstruation in all women, and she is the ruler of courtesans across the world. Skilled at the seductive arts, she leads humans astray, and the cold, derisive aspect of women is the fault of Jahi."
