Jabo Kakuryu is the founder of the Acolytes. His true identity is the demon lord Astaroth, who began operating in human society in order to prevent the future seen by his clairvoyance: The Apocalyptic extinction of gods and humankind by Vanitas, leading him to begin the Human Domestication Plan to curb the spread of malice propagated by human society. In order to abide by the non-aggression pact between Gods and Demon Lords, he takes the form of a human and begins gathering extremists in order to initiate his plan using Vanitas itself as their symbol of worship, though through his clairvoyance he knows is doomed to failure.
Bring Joshua Hawk into the fold to be the one to unify the diverse members of the Acolytes around the world, he stayed by the sidelines to let his agents operate. When the protagonist meets him, he guides them in hopes of leading them to chose a path that would lead to two timelines, one where they remained with the Liberators and one where they became the new leader of the Acolytes. Visiting the alternate version of the Protagonist where the timeline split before they were even born, he leads the former Acolyte leader to enter the timeline of their opposite gender counterpart in the Liberation timeline. Working together, Jabo and the alter-Protagonist began to work to change the future.
