In Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, bosses infected with a Joker have access to the Old Maid spell, which forces one random foe to cast JOKER.
The only way to avoid the JOKER spell is to immediately interrupt the battle once Old Maid is cast, then order all party members to defend and wait until all of them have had their turn.
