The Hunger Arcana, also known as the Lust Arcana (欲望, Yokubō)? in the Japanese version, is an Arcana in Persona 4 Golden. It shares its Personas with the Jester Arcana (道化師, Dōkeshi)?.
Overview[]
Like the Aeon Arcana, the Hunger/Lust Arcana is not found in standard tarot decks, though The Devil shares similar traits in symbolism. The Lust Arcana is the Thoth tarot equivalent of the Strength Arcana, numbered XI.
Lust symbolizes the danger of losing control, of being consumed by power. The card also implies strength, but strength which comes through Dominance. It is not true power, but the pure bliss of abusing power.
The Personas of the Hunger Arcana are all disgraced or malevolent deities that are often, but not always related to death or destruction. They tend to inflict statuses and use Mudo skills, along with passives and buff skills.
Just as the Lust Arcana is the Thoth equivalent of the Strength Arcana, the Jester Arcana is meant to invoke the Fool Arcana, numbered 0, though that's mainly because the Jester is just one of the multiple names the Fool has obtained over the centuries. The Jester symbolizes much of what the Fool symbolizes--ignorance, spontaneity, and freedom--but in a suppressed form. In the case of the Jester, the querent is misguided and unwilling to work with others, in contrast to the Fool, who is compatible with everyone. Ultimately, the Jester acts like a fool instead of genuinely being a fool.
In terms of the representative character, Tohru Adachi, the relevant Arcana reflects Adachi's relationship with the world due to his hatred of reality, and how Adachi will face his true feelings. If the protagonist protects Adachi by burning the evidence of his crimes, he will blackmail the protagonist into silence for the crime he's committed, maximizing his Social Link as the "Jester" Arcana. Otherwise, if the protagonist were to confront Adachi alone before initiating the mission with the group, their relationship would change: they wouldn't be on speaking terms, but Adachi's Arcana would change into "Hunger", essentially forcing Adachi to face his feelings through atonement. On the path of the true ending, Adachi would later atone for his crimes and thank the protagonist in a letter, maximizing his relationship with him of the Hunger Arcana.

Persona 4 Golden[]
"It didn't seem like a threat... But you don't think you can talk to Adachi anymore. You feel that your relationship with Adachi has changed dramatically..."
The Hunger Arcana social link is represented by Tohru Adachi, though it is originally presented as the Jester Arcana. The social link is unusual in a couple of ways; not only does the meeting time change twice, but after rank 6, it stops requiring deliberate meetups with Adachi and begins to progress with the story. If the protagonist ranks the link high enough and identifies Adachi as the killer, he is given the choice to reveal his suspicions or hide them. If he reveals his suspicions and later goes to confront Adachi alone, the Arcana reveals itself as the Hunger Arcana, and maxes as Hunger during the True Ending.
If the protagonist hides his suspicions about Adachi and later assists Adachi in disposing of evidence incriminating him, the Social Link maxes as Jester, though the game ends on a new Bad Ending.
The game itself considers the Jester and Hunger Arcanas to be the same Arcana, so maxing out the Link in either way will allow one to summon Magatsu-Izanagi, the Tempter of the Void, the Ultimate Persona of the Jester/Hunger Arcana.
