Humbaba, also known as Phunbaba and Hanbaba, is a demon in the series.

History

Humbaba, also known as Huwawa and Humbaba the Terrible, was raised by the Sun God Utu. He was a giant tasked with protecting the home of the Gods, known as the Cedar Forest, by Enlil. Eventually he was tricked by Gilgamesh who offered his sisters to him, resulting in his capture. Humbaba's attempt to escape ends with Enkidu slaying him. Enlil then redistributed the seven splendors/auras of Humbaba to seven others, such as the Lions and the rivers.

Known as Humbazom, it can be created through Relic fusion using the Wafer+Demon+Heavy, Fear+Demon+Talon, or Air+Demon+Tusk combos.

Known as Humba, he has the power Final Wall. Humba can be revived from Humbazom once his soul is obtained.

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth

Phunbaba is an F.O.E in the Theater District. It appears as a large, black and yellow robotic guard resembling a bipedal Dragon. It is a security guard deployed by Enlil and has no free will of its own.

Phunbaba turns aggressive the moment the party enters its line of sight and moves up to two spaces at once. However, it will only do so every two party steps. If it comes across any rubble while chasing the party, it will halt its movement and take a step to destroy the rubble. This not only opens up more paths for exploration, but can be used to create space between it and the party. Phunbaba will move back to its resting spot if the party escapes it.

When defeated, Phunbaba may drop Black Tangle, Destroyer's Disk, and Wild Card. Black Tangle is used to create the party's ultimate weapons: the Paradise Lost for the P5 hero, the Ruyi Jingu Bang for Ryuji, the 777 Katana for Yusuke, the Golden Whip for Ann, the Tsar Saber for Akechi, the Utopia for Morgana, the Kanemitsu for the P3P heroine, the Pegasus Fist for Makoto, the Ultimate Fist for Akihiko, the Fleurs du Mal for Haru, the Usumidori for the P4 hero, the Masakado Sword* for Junpei, the Reigan Greaves for Chie, the Primordial Sea for Yukiko, the Destiny Tablet for Kanji, the Claw of Revenge for Teddie, the Megido Gun for Naoto, the Nandaka for Yosuke, the Vajra* for Koromaru, the Origin Bow for Yukari, the Kokuseki Senjin for Mitsuru, the Gae Bolg for Ken, the Caduceus for Shinjiro, the Deus Xiphos for the P3 hero, and the Metatronius for Aigis. It is also used to create the accessory Rudra Ring.

Destroyer's Disk unlocks the special fusion for Shiva.

• Phunbaba being able to be lured into smashing down roadblocks might be a reference to the Cutter F.O.Es in Etrian Odyssey IV, which have to be baited to destroy obstacles in order to progress through the labyrinth.
