"Ick... I can't believe that it is eating from its own body... Can you knock those apples off?"
Homo Gorleo is a human in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
Appearances[]
- Metaphor: ReFantazio: Boss
Profile[]
Homo Gorleo appeared alongside an incursion of lesser humans and monsters on 6/05 into the Northern Border Fort, massacring many of the rookie Euchronian soldiers that were stationed there that raised their blades against it with its own. The attack is heavily indicated to be a false flag Louis unleashed in collaboration with Captain Klinger to coerce people into supporting him.
Eventually, the protagonist and Strohl found it atop one of the fort's fortified tower, having killed the troops there, and fought it. However, they could barely do any real harm to the beast. Despite that, Strohl urged the protagonist to flee with his life, desperate to save at least one life from the horrific massacre, though was overwhelmed by Homo Gorleo all the same. With both their lives in mortal peril, the protagonist soon awakens to a new power; their Archetype, the Seeker, and was able to slay Homo Gorleo with this newfound power.
Much later on into the game, the human was resurrected by Cirsium Zorba as a distraction to escape after he killed the prince for real. However, with the help of the protagonist's new Prince Archetype, it was slain once again.
Trivia[]

Creature presumed to be the inspiration for Homo Gorleo's design.
- Homo Gorleo resembles the pair of nude men committing debauchery with an owl on top of them from the center panel of The Garden of Earthly Delights. However, they are now a single entity where the owl on top of the torsos is now replaced with the head of an ape and blades are fused into the feet of its torso. The giant cherries that the men feed to the owl on the original drawing are also replaced with apples.
