The Holy Knights, also known as the Templars, Temple Knights, or Knight Templars, were an ancient order of knights tied closely to the crusades and were disbanded in 1312 by order of the Pope.

A rogue Temple Knight, Raidou Kuzunoha the XL, fed up with the bleak, dystopian future of Shin Megami Tensei and Shin Megami Tensei II, used the Akarana Corridor in an attempt to alter history and ensure the future of those two games never came to pass. It is mentioned that aside from being a Temple Knight, he is also a Tera-Level Summoner.
