Heat Balance first appears when the party is investigating the monorail after detecting Arcana Priestess. They hinder the party's progress from reaching the front of the train.
Like in previous games, Heat Balance appears in the monorail and the lower half of the Arqa Block.
A more powerful Heat Balance appears as the second boss in the Monad Passage of the Harabah Block of Tartarus, alongside a Sky Balance and a Light Balance. This Heat Balance focuses on party wide debuffs such as Matarunda and Marakunda, as well as casting Fire and Ice magic. If the other two balances are defeated and this one is left alone, it will summon in an Omnipotent Balance.
Persona 4 / Golden[]
Heat Balance appears on floors 6 and 7 of Yukiko's Castle within the Midnight Channel. It repels Electricity and Wind skills. While not set as a weakness, Heat Balance takes double damage from Almighty attacks. When defeated, it may drop Golden Dish. Selling 10 Golden Dishes at Daidara will unlock Nanman Gusoku for Chie in the shop's inventory.
Heat Balances also play a role in the quest, "Acquire a Ritz Wire." After accepting the request from the male student on the first floor of the Practice Building, defeating a Heat Balance will yield this item. Return it to the student to complete the quest.
In Golden, Heat Balance will use Sukukaja to boost its Hit Rate and Evasion and attack with Agi and Bufu. Heat Balances also have access to Red Wall and White Wall, and will use them to cover the weakness of their allies. They no longer repel all elemental spells, but are still immune to fire and ice while gaining a resistance to light. Unlike their P4 counterparts, they won't focus solely on the protagonist in battle. When defeated, it may drop Golden Dish. Selling 6 Golden Dishes at Daidara will unlock Nanman Gusoku. It may also drop Smoky Quartz for trade at Shiroku Pub.
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth[]
Heat Balance appears in Chapter 3 of You in Wonderland. It attacks with multi-target Fire and Ice skills, and may boost its magic damage with Mind Charge. Though weak to Electricity and Wind in this iteration, it in turn resists Fire and Ice. When defeated, it may drop Scale Piece and Scale Dish. Scale Piece is used to create the Champion Gloves for Akihiko, and the All-Purpose Apron female armor. Scale Dish is used to create the Bastard Sword for Junpei and the P4 hero, and the Bear Claw for Teddie.
