Hassohappa (八相発破) is a recurring physical skill in the games. It's usually a very high level skill that damages all enemies for huge quantities of damage.
History[edit | edit source]
Hassohappa is one of the sword skills mastered within the Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū, a traditional school of the Japanese martial art of swordsmanship, kenjutsu. Hassohappa, literally translated as "eight-directions explosive-blast", is one of the traditional basic moves.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Due to the nature of the Inheritance system in Devil Survivor everything can learn Hassohappa, even if they would not have any way to utilize the skill, like in the case of Legion.
- In most of the games it appears in there are not multiple physical elements and Hassohappa is listed as just a simple physical. However in Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE, it is one of the two almighty affinity spin skills that is not a signature skill.
