The Hannya is a jealous female demon or serpent often depicted in masks, particularly in Noh theater. The demon is depicted as having two bull-like horns, metallic eyes, and a leering mouth split from ear to ear. However, while it appears dangerous, aggressive and demonic, it also has a sorrowful and tormented expression (thus displaying the complexity of human emotions), as when the mask is titled down, the face appears sorrowful, as if it is crying.
Hannya is a demon that begins appearing in the upper levels of the SEBEC Building. She battles using mostly physical attacks, but also uses the Hama spell.
Persona 2: Innocent Sin[]
Hannya and its user, Principal Hanya, are fought in the clock tower at Seven Sisters High School following a brief conversation with Joker, as the game's first boss. Hannya uses water-type abilities and powerful drills. However, it is a weak Persona, and making use of Fusion Spells will quickly destroy it for good, prompting Hanya to jump from the clock tower.
