Gou Inaba is a playable character in Maken X.

Appearances[]

Profile[]

Maken X[]

"The copilot of the aircraft Rhincodon. Formally a salesman of Digital Encylopedias, he started studying to be a pilot at the age of 25. Inaba went to aeronautical school and passed the examination with a -B result. The first time he flew the small airship Rapca, he got airsick. At that time, a flight attendant took care of him, and after dating her for a year, he married her, but they don't have any children. After becoming a copilot of the Rhincodon, a bigger aircraft than Rapca, he bought a house in the suburbs two months ago. He even works on holidays to clear the debts."
—Profile in Maken Shao

Inaba was the pilot of the Rhincodon until he was taken captive by the Sangyokai. He tries to fight them off but ends up being overpowered and passes out before he can reach the escape guppy. If he is Brain Jacked, he will take Maken to Hong Kong, but the Maken will lose access to Hakke Andrey for the rest of the game.

Maken X Another[]

Inaba appears in Chapter 9, where he attacks Kei Sagami as she tries to escape the Rhincodon, mistaking her for one of the Sangyokai hijackers and blaming her for his first flight as a pilot going wrong. While Kei hestitates to fight back as Inaba is a regular human and not a Sangyokai, the Maken takes advantage of this and assumes control of her body to demonstrate its Brain Jack ability on him, assimilating his knowledge of aeronautical travel into itself and boarding the escape guppy afterwards, leaving the comatose Inaba to perish alongside the Rhincodon. The Brain Jack temporarily transforms the Maken's weapon state into an electrical baton.

Etymology[]

  • The name Gou means "township, hometown, village, native place, district" (郷).
  • Gou's surname Inaba means "rice plant" (稲) (ina) and "leaf, plane, lobe, needle, blade, spear, counter for flat things, fragment, piece" (葉) (ha/ba).

Trivia[]

  • Gou Inaba has a boss version that was dummied out of the game. If added to a level he will attempt to strike the Maken with his taser, electrocuting them briefly when it connects, but can be defeated and made vulnerable to Brain Jacking with a single attack.
