Trivia[]
- The script written on Gorgyra's scrolls are passages of various sonnets, including:
- Sonnet 1 from Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnet's from the Portuguese (“Guess now who holds thee!”—“Death,” I said, But, there,/The silver answer rang, “Not Death, but Love.”). Visible on the top left and bottom left scrolls.
- John Donne's "Sonnet X" ("Death be not proud, though"). Visible on the top right scroll.
- William Shakespeare's Sonnet 19 ("My love shall in my verse ever live young"). Visible on the lower right scroll.
- The center scroll bears the name Hekate, Greek goddess of witchcraft. Hecate is mentioned in several of Shakespeare's works, most prominently in Macbeth, in which she scolds the three Weird Sisters for helping Macbeth (though some scholars believe her scenes were added by someone else retroactively). Additionally, Gorgyra wears a pointed witch-like hat and their lower body is designed to resemble a potion bottle.
