Fortune Telling is an activity in the Persona series.
Appearances[]
Profile[]
Persona 3 / FES / Portable / Reload[]
Both the male protagonist and female protagonist can head over to Club Escapade when it is open at night, where they can meet a woman sitting by the bar, or standing by the entrance in Portable. After answering yes to whether the protagonist would like their fortune told, she proceeds to either describe story related events that have already happened or allude to future events, warning the protagonist. Each fortune told is punctuated with a "May your future be bright." Interacting with her does not pass time.
The fortune teller is given a gameplay purpose in Reload, offering various benefits once Courage is high enough for the protagonist to visit Club Escapade at night.
Persona 5 / Royal[]
- Main article: Confidant/Chihaya Mifune
The protagonist can consult Chihaya Mifune during the afternoon to help him boost certain stats for the rest of the day, although at a price. The available actions that can be performed expand as her Confidant is ranked up. Interacting with her does not pass time.
Luck Reading[]
Initiating Luck Reading will temporarily boost the growth rate of Social Stats for the rest of the day. The gain will be increased by x1.5, with decimals rounded down.[1][2]
The reading costs ¥5,000 and is accessed from unlocking Chihaya's Confidant.
Money Reading[]
This topic is in need of research for the following reason: * Does an All-out Attack need to be fatal to receive money? This can be discussed on the article's talk page. |
Money Reading doubles the money received that day from battles won by finishing off battles with All-out Attacks. In Persona 5 Royal, it also affects enemies defeated with Ryuji's Insta-kill ability.[1][2]
The reading costs ¥5,000 and is unlocked when Chihaya's Confidant reaches Rank 3.
Affinity Reading[]
Affinity Reading will grant 1 Confidant point (minimum value) for a person of his choice. The points received can still be boosted by relevant multipliers, such as having a Persona of a matching Arcana, and having scored high on exams.[1][2]
The reading costs ¥5,000, and in Persona 5, the ability is unlocked when Chihaya's Confidant reaches Rank 7, whereas in Persona 5 Royal, it's Rank 5.
Fate Reading[]
The ability is only available in Persona 5. Initiating Fate Reading will provide the protagonist a preview of some abilities of the Confidant of his choice.[1][2]
The reading costs ¥10,000, and is unlocked when Chihaya's Confidant reaches Rank 5.
Special Fate Reading[]
The Special Fate Reading will provide the protagonist a preview of all abilities of the Confidant of his choice.[1][2]
The reading costs ¥10,000, and in Persona 5, it is unlocked when Chihaya's Confidant reaches Rank 10, whereas in Persona 5 Royal, it is on Rank 7.
Celestial Reading[]
The ability is only available in Persona 5 Royal. Celestial Reading instantly causes a fusion alarm in the Velvet Room, and increases the chances of another fusion alarm occurring when battles are fought that day.[2]
The reading costs ¥20,000, and is unlocked on Rank 8. This is the only reading not unlocked by the Fortune Tarot Card key item.
True Affinity Reading[]
The ability is only available in Persona 5 Royal. True Affinity Reading will temporarily allow the protagonist to see the most rewarding dialogue choices with Confidants for the rest of the day. They'll be marked in red.[2]
