Forge fusion (シュミット, Shumitto)^? is a mechanic in the Devil Summoner series of games.

Profile

Forge fusion is the process by which Dr. Victor can grant swords demonic powers. This process can improve Raidou's Shakko katana, bolstering its attack power and granting resistance to various elements. It may also result in some of Raidou's base stats being improved when the fusion is complete. When Forge is selected, Raidou must choose a demon to sacrifice, and the demon must have its Loyalty maxed in order to use in Forge fusion.

Use Forge during a New Moon will result in the sword reverting to its standard form, Shakko, with 10 Attack and normal resistances.

The demon sacrificed to improve Raidou's sword cannot improve Raidou's stats past their hard caps, meaning Raidou's HP cannot be raised past 999 HP and his Strength, Magic, Vitality and Luck stats cannot exceed 40. The effects of each demon fused do not stack.

Fusing Abihiko, Nagasunehiko, Hitokotonusi and Mishaguji to Raidou's sword at any point will create the Onmyo katana, which will add 60 base attack damage to the katana. This can be further bolstered by sacrificing any demon to improve the sword further. The Onmyo katana can be fused once Raidou has defeated Mishaguji and is at least level 50. This process can be interrupted, however, as forging the sword during a New Moon will result in the sword being restored to its original version. Raidou will have to fuse the four requisite demons into the sword starting from the beginning and the Onmyo can also be reset to the Shakko during a New Moon after the sword has been powered up.
