Flame Apostle is the ruler of the world of fire, Muspelheim. Chosen in the past by Shugoshin to wield the power of Flame and Light, he leads the demons of Muspelheim in an endless war with the demons of Niflheim. As Akira continues to fight his forces he sends Rashnu to deal with him. When Akira confronts him in his castle he reveals that the girl Amy Kashihara is destined to become a Goddess that will create a new world where the forces of Light & Dark will continue their endless battle.
After his defeat, he comes to realize that Akira has the power to change the fate of the world and tells him to find the place that is hidden. He hopes to meet Akira again some day and tells him to hurry to find Amy before it's too late, then he dies. During battle he has the power Fire Absorption, which lets him absorb fire-based attacks. Once he beats the game, Akira can return to the Flame Apostles castle to meet the reborn Flame Apostle. He asks for Akira to find his resurrected servants, and returning to him after completing the task has him join Akira's party.
