History

A falchion is a one-handed, single-edged sword that could be found in various forms from the 13th to 16th century, with early variations resembling the seax or the saber, and later ones resembling a machete with a crossguard. The weapon almost always had a single-edged blade with a crossguard for the hilt, similar to arming swords.
