Fabienne Lagopus Vulpes, known simply as Fabienne, is a character in Metaphor: ReFantazio. She runs a bar and inn called Hushed Honeybee Inn. She has a common-law marriage with Grius and takes care of his daughter Maria, who she treasures as her own.
Fabienne allows Grius to use her place as a base of operations and as such is fully aware of the circumstances behind the prince's assassination attempt. She is an ally who cooperates with the protagonist, especially after Grius' death.

Design[]
Fabienne is a tall, beautiful and shapely woman with golden eyes, waist-length silver hair and bangs covering one side of her face. As a paripus, she has several animal-like characteristics, namely a pair of cat ears and a silver fox tail. Her attire consists of a dark blue dress that extends down to her knees, dark green leggings, black heels, and embroidered sleeves with a floral and vine pattern.
Personality[]
Fabienne is a kind but fierce woman who is devoted her friends and family. While she is not bound by blood to Grius' daughter Maria, she treats her as if she was her blood daughter, being visibly distraught when she is in danger and trying her hardest to help Maria recover from her grief after Grius' passing.

Etymology[]
- Fabienne is a name of French and Latin origin, ultimately deriving from the Latin root faba, meaning "bean grower."
- Lagopus is a genus of birds in the grouse subfamily commonly known as ptarmigans. Lagopus is derived from Ancient Greek lagos meaning "hare, rabbit," and pous meaning "foot," referencing the feathered feet and toes typical of animals such as the snowshoe hare.
- Vulpes is a genus of the sub-family Caninae, whose members are colloquially referred to as true foxes, meaning they form a proper clade.
- Vulpes lagopus is the scientific name of the arctic fox.

- Like certain characters in the game, Fabienne's full name was never uttered within the span of the story, with her middle name only shown during the voice acting section of the ending credits.
