Erthys is a demon in the series.

History

Erthys is likely based on Earth Elementals, elementals formed from the element of earth, or spirits of earth. A Earth Elemental controls one of the four prime elements that compose the world. Erthys is composed of "dryness" and "cold" essences, the basic components of destruction.

Earth Elementals embody the power of earth. Unlike Gnomes, which can be seen in physical forms, earth elementals are said to be invisible spirits to human eyes.

Erthys is first encountered inside of the Amala Network when the Demi-fiend attempts to travel to Ginza from Shibuya. They cannot be recruited, and must either be obtained through fusion by fusing two members of the Fallen, Jirae, Brute or Night race together or, alternatively, trading gemstones to Rags in Ginza.

An early part of the main story mission requires the player to fuse an Erthys from a Kodama and a field variant of Hua Po. This allows the player to take advantage of Inugami's weakness.

It later appears as one of the four bosses of the Suginami Tunnels gold instance and returns as part of the Suginami Unknown boss rush and the Makai Distortion instance.

Erthys is a member of the Element race and can only be obtained through the fusion of two demons of the same race, such as two members of the Night, Beast or Jirae races. Erthys can be used in fusion using Elements to rank up or rank down demons within their race.
