The Enigma (秘神, Hishin)? race is a race in the series.

The Enigma race is a group of Light-Neutral demons of the Gods species that, true to their name, is composed of esoteric or mysterious gods whose origins and attributes aren't completely known.
Enigmas share a trait in the Zealot and UMA races in that they, outside of few exceptions, can only be made via fusion accidents.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner[]
To fuse a demon of the Enigma race, the protagonist needs to attempt a fusion with one of the material demons being in the Gods family during a New Moon. If the conditions are met and a fusion accident occurs, a demon of the Enigma race will be the result. However, the protagonist's level must be high enough or else an Enigma demon of a lower level appears instead.
