Elphine, also known as Zashiki Warashi, is a demon in the series.
History[]
Zashiki-warashi (座敷童子 or 座敷童*)?, also known as Zashiki Bokko (座敷ぼっこ*)?, are spirit-like beings that can appear as a child of any gender, from three to twelve years old. They originate from the Iwate Prefecture, but variations of the myth can be found across Japan.
When they live in a home, the family that lives there will be blessed with good fortune and bad luck will fall upon the home and its inhabitants should the Zashiki Warashi leave. A Zashiki will never be seen until they leave the home, but their presence is known by the mischief they make. The Zashiki must be noticed, appreciated and taken care of properly like a child or else they will leave. However, too much attention will cause them to leave as well.
