The English version of the item, "Dr. Salt NEO," is a reference to Dr Pepper, a carbonated soft drink. Ironically, despite the item's name directly contrasting the product of origin, it's also written that the NEO version has "more pepper" compared to the original Dr. Salt item.
The Japanese name is literally "Doctor Pepper NEO," (胡椒博士NEO*)? directly referencing the brand. However, the only difference is that the item's name is written in Kanji and with Japanese words, whereas the brand itself is written in Katakana and still written in English: (ドクターペッパー, Dokutaa Peppaa)?.
