Dizzy is an ailment in the series.

Overview[]

Dizzy makes it so that the afflicted have a hard time actually leading their attacks onto their targets, making them missing much more likely.

While Dizzy has always had the same general effect, the exact mechanics vary slightly between games and that also extends to Dizzy going under multiple different names, and hence this page being a union of multiple different ailments of similar effects, such as Stun (麻痺, Mahi)?, Blind (盲目, Mōmoku)?, Illusion (幻影, Gen'ei)?, or Mirage (幻惑, Genwaku)?.

Dizzy in Persona 3 Reload

Persona 3 Portable / Reload / Persona 4 / Golden[]

Dizzy (気絶, Kizetsu)? is a special ailment that a combatant may get if attacked when already Downed. They are unable to get up or take any action for one turn, and will only recover on their next turn. Since Dizzy is considered an ailment, it cannot be afflicted while the combatant is having another ailment, nor can other ailments be afflicted on a Dizzy target. An All-Out Attack may cause a survived foe to become Dizzy instead of recovering.

In Reload, attacking a Downed target with a weapon has a higher chance to cause Dizzy. A Dizzy combatant is more vulnerable to Critical hits.

Persona 5 / Royal[]

Combatants inflicted with Dizzy (目眩, Memai)? will have their attack accuracy greatly reduced. Dizzy allows for Technical damage from any attack.

In Persona 5, Dizzy has an expiration timer of either 1 or 2, and thus will randomly expire at the start of the combatant's second turn or third turn. In Royal, Dizzy is instantly cured upon being attacked. It is also removed when taking reflected damage, but this cannot cause a Technical or Down the combatant.

Shadows instantly recover from Dizzy if negotiated with.

Persona 5 Strikers[]

Should any of the Phantom Thieves be inflicted with Dizzy, their field of vision is compromised and distorted, preventing them from fighting effectively.

Dizzy still allows from Technical damage from any attack. With this in mind, it is recommended in New Game Plus files to build a Lucifer that is designed to do two things: use Nocturnal Flash to inflict Dizzy, with plenty of passive skills to assist the odds of inflicting Dizzy, then immediately upon successfully inflicting the target with Dizzy fire as many Morning Stars at the target as fast as possible until the target stops being Dizzy and thus have to reset the strategy, the target stops being alive, or Joker's SP runs out, making this strat a must for Merciless Difficulty runs.

Resist[]

Shin Megami Tensei V / Vengeance[]

Certain demons, bosses and playable ones alike, innately are weak to, resist or even null Mirage, and are as such tied to their respective Essence. Being weak or negating an attempt to inflict Mirage onto a certain demon can affect either side's Press Turn Icons. Unlike with elemental affinities, aliment affinities cannot be altered with passive skills.

The Nahobino can take on a demon's affinity chart via Essence Fusion, including that demon's affinity to how they deal with Mirage.
