It is the exclusive race for Lucifer in Shin Megami Tensei NINE, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Even in other installments where Lucifer appears as a boss, he is just given the usual Tyrant race.
The Devil race makes its playable debut in Vengeance, where Lucifer is automatically unlocked during the Godborn Mode run, which the gameplay mode in of itself is behind a different unlock requiring the defeat of the Canon of Vengeance exclusive superboss Satan, where the preceding run had the Nahobino defeated an "exceptionally difficult" Matter Lucifer.
