Vishnu is one of the more recurring Deity/Majin

The Deity (魔神, Majin, lit Demon God) is one of the most powerful races in the Shin Megami Tensei series, and is generally more difficult to fuse than most other races. They tend to be well-rounded demons, capable of using high level physical and magical attacks. In the real world, they are the chief deities of their pantheons; generally the lord of other gods and are associated with maintenance or creation.

They are generally either Light-Law or Light-Neutral. They first appeared as the former, but newer tendencies vary towards the latter. In the Devil Summoner series they were Light-Law.

Deities have the Awakening Racial Skill, which increases the power of the team's MP skills by 50% during the turn. Stronger Deities have this skill changed to Enlightenment, which also grants an innate 25% cost reduction for MP skills. This reduction even affects skills outside battle, like other Racial Skills.
