Decarabia, also known as Carabia, is the sixty-ninth demonic spirit listed in the Ars Goetia, according to the writings in the Lesser Key of Solomon. Although he has no title in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, he does in the Lesser Key of Solomon where he is a Great Marquis of Hell and has thirty legions of demons under his command.
When summoned, Decarabia appears as a pentagram star, although he will take the form of a man if the conjurer requests it. He knows the properties and values of all herbs and precious stones, and can transform into any type of bird to sing and fly for his conjurer, sometimes acting as his animal familiar.
"Origin: Israel. One of the 72 demons of the Goetia. He usually appears as a pentagram, but can appear as a human if his summoner wishes. He excels in knowledge of ores, gems, and plants, and will teach them to his summoner."

One particular Decarabia advises the protagonist on how to defeat Ishtar by revealing her weakness in return for Macca -- the player can pay up or intimidate the Decarabia into revealing the information for free. The demon admits it still expects Ishtar to prevail, and is stunned when the protagonist ultimately proves victorious and kills Ishtar. Afterward, the Decarabia offers to join as a Navigator (though it will only do so if the player pays a total of 20,000 Macca, either before or after killing Ishtar). If dismissed, it will wait for the player by the Leyline fount at Tokyo Station.
Enemy Decarabias can be talked to by Kaiwan and Forneus. In the former, Kaiwan accuses Decarabia of copying it due to their similar appearances, but Decarabia counters back with the same logic, scaring Kaiwan. In the latter, it is glad to see Forneus but expresses confusion as to why it never showed up for their meeting. Forneus states that they must be getting old and forgetful, but both are glad to see each other. Decarabia will give Forneus an item before leaving.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance[]
In the timeline of the Canon of Vengeance, the Navigator Decarabia does not join the battle of Chiyoda and instead takes refuge in Shinjuku. Lost and broke, it will again ask the protagonist for 20,000 Macca to join as a Navigator.

The non-playable Decarabia in Shibuya in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne waits for Forneus, unaware that he was already defeated. The appearance of Decarabia is strongly reminiscent of the Pairans, a race of aliens seen in the 1956 film A Warning From Space. The Pairans were later referenced in the 1983 DAICON IV animation, which was a highly influential promotional short produced for the DAICON convention by a small team of animators that would go on to become major anime production studio Gainax.
