In Greek mythology, Daeira is one of the daughters of the titan Oceanus and is one of the 3,000 oceanids. She is the divinity connected with the Eleusinian mysteries, with her name meaning the "knowing one" from the Greek verb daô. Many writers equated her with many different goddesses, but she is now commonly thought to have been a nurse or jailer of Persephone.
