Persona 3 Reload[]
"Well, that's everything. And now... It's time to raise the roof and elevate this garden to new heights! And to top it off... Eat your veggies, peas!"
In Persona 3 Reload, the rooftop garden is unlocked on May 25th and can be accessed on the roof of the Iwatodai Dormitory. The protagonist can use seedlings to nurture and harvest different vegetables. Seedlings can be bought around the city, and 1 is used up upon planting. The seedlings need several days before they can be fully harvested. Only 1 seedling can be harvested at a time.

Also, starting from June 16th, when harvesting said seedlings, the protagonist can spend time with certain teammates to nurture the growth of the plant to expand the overall yield during its growth.
He can only spend time with Junpei Iori, Fuuka Yamagishi, Aigis and Shinjiro Aragaki. The protagonist can only spend time with them if a plant is in the midst of growing: if the plants are instead ready to harvest, the protagonist will need to collect the vegetables and plant another seedling before being able to spend time with his party members.
For example, while having planted the Healthy Tomato Sprout, spending time nurturing the garden with Junpei and Fuuka once each will result in a yield of the default Healthy Tomato (x3), in addition to Tiny Healthy Tomato (x4) and Big Healthy Tomato (x2.)
Spending time with a character three times will have them learn additional characteristics in combat which comprise of passive abilities.

Persona 4 Golden[]
Gardening is automatically unlocked on May 22nd when the protagonist decides to help Nanako Dojima plant veggies outside the Dojima Residence.
The protagonist can buy seeds from a woman at Junes Department Store and a woman outside of Dojima's house. Every veggie planted takes around 5 to 10 days to grow depending of the weather and seed planted.
The protagonist can use the veggies as a healing item during battles as a way to restore HP or SP. When a veggie is ready for harvesting or has withered, an icon will appear in the gardening tools. Harvesting a crop or clearing withered plants will not consume time.
When there is a crop that has yet to fully grow, the protagonist can spend the night maintaining the garden, which reduces the number of days till the crop is ready to harvest. If the protagonist chooses to maintain the garden when the crop is exactly 1 day away from harvesting, the harvest yield will increase. Maintaining the garden also yields bonus points to Diligence and Social Link points from Nanako and/or Ryotaro Dojima, depending on which of the two is present at the time.
During the winter season, the protagonist is unable to plant any seeds; instead, the garden can only be used to catch rare bugs since it is full of snow.

Persona 5 / Royal[]
- Main article: Confidant/Haru Okumura
After the protagonist has initiated the Confidant with Haru Okumura, he can consult her to cultivate vegetables, which will produce SP-recovering items that can be consumed in battle. She is available on the Shujin Academy roof on afternoons, unless the weather is rainy or snowy. Making a request and the cultivation process do not pass time.
Generally, after requesting a cultivation, the vegetables will take several days to harvest. The duration depends on the request, and Haru will inform the protagonist of when they'll be ready. The protagonist can harvest the vegetables at any time once they're done, however, if the weather is rainy or snowy, she'll be unavailable, meaning that the protagonist will have to consult her on another day. Additionally, for certain vegetables, it is possible to harvest more than 1 item of the same kind in 1 session.[1][2]
Some of Haru's Confidant abilities also improve certain factors in the cultivation process. By reaching Rank 5, the harvest yield will be increased by 1. And on Rank 7, the duration needed to cultivate vegetables will be decreased by 1 day.
In Persona 5 Royal, the catalogue of items that can be harvested has been extended. Now Haru can grow items that can boost the user's attack power once. They have similar properties to Charge and Concentrate.
