Crocodile Tears is a Confidant ability unlocked by ranking up Ann Takamaki's Confidant to Rank 5.

If the Confidant ability is unlocked and Ann is in the party, when a party member other than Ann is knocked down and taken hostage, the protagonist has an option to ask Ann to intervene using her acting skill. The enemy holding hostage will become rattled and either change their demand to something else or simply retreat from battle. The option is not available when Ann herself is knocked down, has an ailment, or has fainted.
