Covenant (コヴェナント, Kovenanto)? is an entity and an important element of the plot of Soul Hackers 2.

"If someone possesses all of the Covenants... They could end this world."
Covenants are described as a form of incredible powers passed down by numerous human souls since the ancient time. Anyone who gets hold of a Covenant will receive an array of blessings such as enlightenment to new talents. It appears like a long glowing snake. If the one who possesses a Covenant dies, it will creep out of that person's body. Covenant holders are able to see the Covenants of the other holders.
There are five Covenants known to exist. If anyone collects all five of these Covenants, it is said that they can summon the Great One, with the exact context remaining a mystery.
Mangetsu Kuzunoha
At the time of Soul Hackers 2, the Red Covenant in particular was owned by Ichiro Onda, which would gift him talent that would help him succeed as a world-famous engineer. He would then be assassinated by Zenon and Iron Mask, the former of which would consume his Covenant.
The Yellow Covenant was owned by Milady: she was killed by R.S. for it, but due to Ringo and Arrow's intervention, he failed to secure her Covenant, with Figue becoming the new Covenant holder due to her proximity to Milady. Saizo was also an owner of a covenant, which he also would have stolen from him by Zenon.
Iron Mask is a holder of one additional Covenant, which he took from Mangetsu Kuzunoha's assistant, Gen Mayumi with the last one owned by Mangetsu himself, but he ended up being assassinated by Zenon in Subway Line 14 after attempting to hide and escape. This was a fake, however, as Mangetsu had managed to seal away the real one inside Arrow. After Zenon's death, his flow into Iron Mask, with him also gaining Figue's as he killed her too. As Arrow had the real Purple Covenant however, Iron Mask didn't actually have all five like he had thought. He also hadn't actually killed Figue, as she had sealed hers within a fake copy of herself.
Ringo is able to unseal Arrow's Covenant, which later caused him to notice the ones inside Raven, revealing him to be Iron Mask. He transfers it to Figue for safekeeping, then helps the party kill Raven. His four transfer to Figue, who attempts to carry on Raven's will. After they leave Figue following her death, the whereabouts of them is unknown.
