The protagonist can begin Iwai's Confidant as early as May 6th. He will receive a paper bag from Iwai containing a realistic-looking model gun on May 4th. However, the protagonist must have Rank 4 Guts (Dauntless) before being able to inquire about the contents of the bag.
In Persona 5 Royal, the protagonist will be able to keep the gun from the paper bag immediately after talking to Iwai, even if he does not have the required Guts to begin his Confidant. The gun is a modified Tkachev that inflicts Shock .
Interacting with Iwai will raise the protagonist's Proficiency stat.
Completing Iwai's Confidant enables the fusion of Attis . He also gives the protagonist a Gecko Pin customizations once the protagonist establishes Iwai's Confidant in New Game Plus .
