The confessional (懺悔室*)? is a mechanic in Persona 5.
Appearances[]
Profile[]
"I see... I really do have a lot to reflect on, even if it's just about whatever happened recently. After some serious reflection, I was able to rediscover how marvelous I really am."
The confessional can be found in Kanda Church and can be used after talking to the priest. The protagonist will be able to bring a party member with him, and by having them confess their guilts in the private booth, they'll be given the ability and option to completely relearn any forgotten skills. By doing so, time will pass.
All of a character's Personas share the same list of skills, so it doesn't matter how different evolutions interact with one another within the system. The only exception is the special skill given to second and third-tier Personas when the Confidant of their user is maxed out, so lower-tier Personas cannot learn special skills of their higher-tier counterparts.
In Persona 5 Royal, in New Game Plus, it is possible to have party members remember skills they have learned in Jazz Jin. The only exception to this rule is Futaba Sakura, who needs to be brought to the jazz club again to have her relearn her related support skills.
Goro Akechi's skills between Robin Hood and Loki are separate, and the skills of one Persona cannot be transferred to another. The only instance is that skills that Robin Hood learned via Jazz Jin can be transferred to Loki, and back via in a NG+ playthrough.

Trivia[]
- If Morgana is brought to the confessional, the protagonist will come inside to interpret for him.[1]
- There is no window in the game where the protagonist may bring Morgana with Mercurius, Morgana's Ultimate Persona into the confessional, since it is only used on December 24 and (in Persona 5 Royal) January 9, dates when the protagonist cannot partake in daily activities. The confessional can only be used after his Persona has evolved into Diego.
- The same applies for Goro Akechi and Sumire Yoshizawa with their third-tier Personas, Hereward and Ella respectively, as their awakenings only occur after the calling card for Maruki's Palace is sent.
