In Mayan mythology, Camazotz was a bat god. He was the central god of an ancient Mayan cult which may have owed its existence to giant vampire bats which are now extinct.
In the Popol Vuh, Camazotz are the bat-like monsters encountered by the Mayan Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, during their trials in the underworld of Xibalba. The twins had to spend the night in the House of Bats where they squeeze themselves into their own blowguns in order to defend themselves from the circling bats. Hunahpu stuck his head out of his blowgun to see if the sun had risen and Camazotz immediately snatched off his head and carried it to the ballcourt to be hung up as the ball to be used by the gods in their next ballgame.

Camazotz took the form of a giant bat, with razor-sharp claws and giant fangs. He also had a sharp, knife-shaped nose, and used his vaunted nose and claws to attack his prey. His sons, Hunahpu and his twin brother Xbalanque, later took back his head and defeated the gods of death, but the twins eventually met their doom in battle."

Camazotz can only be obtained through fusion. He appears in the Shibuya Quartz gold level instance.

Camazotz is the Atma Avatar of Bat and is fought three times through the first game.
Camazotz is first fought at the end of the first visit to Manipura. He mostly focuses on attacking the party with various attacks, though when he uses Rage, he tends to use Guard with his final action, landing in the process. While guarding, Camazotz is immune to Physical attacks and takes reduced damage from all others, though his immunity to Earth damage changes to a weakness. When hit by Earth damage, he resumes flying, and his weakness returns to an immunity.
He is fought again upon the second visit to Manipura, where he summons two Baphomet to act as allies. The Baphomet have access to Dekaja to remove debuffs placed upon them, while also having access to Mudo and Agilao. After the Baphomet are summoned, Camazotz strategy does not greatly differ from his first fight, though dealing Earth damage to him no longer breaks his guard stance. He will also occasionally cast Void Expel to cover Baphomet's weakness, or Void Earth (if he his guarding) to cover his own. If the Baphomet are defeated, he will occasionally cast Phys Drain as well.
He is fought for the final time upon the Deserted Ship, where he sports a larger health pool, along with new tactics. He does not summon reinforcements this time, instead using a new unique skill, Zotzilaha Bane. When hit by this attack, the target will be temporarily transformed into a bat. In this state, all the user's damage is dramatically reduced, and damage they take is increased. Further, they gain a weakness to Force, if they did not already have one. Camazotz will capitalize on this by casting Winds of Hell, a high-damage Force move, while a target is afflicted with Bat.
Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner 2[]
Bat's Solar Data is raving at the end of the 3rd Layer of the Sun, stuck reliving events shortly before his death. He will transform into Camazotz and engage the party as soon as they enter the chamber. His power and abilities are similar to his last encounter with the party.
When he gets low on HP, he will use Psycho Rage and cast Zotzilaha Bane on all the party members to turn them into bats. While inflicted with Bat status, the party's overall combat ability will be reduced, especially accuracy. When a party member reverts to normal, their MP will be halved.
Drains HP and inflicts Bat status on one foe. Bat form takes 150% damage from all damage type, gains a weakness to Force and sets all of target's stats to 1 temporarily.
Curse
Inflicts Curse(35%) on one foe. Death-type.
Zanma
Medium Force damage on one foe.
Guard
Assumes guarding stance: Blocks Physical and Gun attacks, takes 1% damage from all damaging attack types, but is weak to Earth damage.
Drains HP and inflicts Bat status on one foe. Bat form takes 150% damage from all damage type, gains a weakness to Force and sets all of target's stats to 1 temporarily.
Assumes guarding stance: Blocks Physical and Gun attacks, takes 1% damage from all damaging attack types except for Almighty, but is weak to Earth damage.
