Appearances
- Persona 5 / Persona 5 Royal
- Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth
- Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers
Details
Once the Phantom Thieves of Hearts find a treasure inside the Metaverse, they will send a Calling Card to their targets via various ways, which can arrange from simple gaslighting-esque vandalism to mass broadcast hijacks. Once this occurs, the target's Shadow Self will be triggered by a severe reaction that provokes them to defend their treasure at all costs, in which the Shadow is defeated and a Change of Heart occurs.
Other times, the Calling Card does not serve to alert the target but as a declaration for war, such as during Persona Q2 final confrontation and against Persona 5 Royal's final enemy.
All calling cards after the one sent by Suguru Kamoshida were created by Yusuke Kitagawa, or in the case of a broadcast hijack, by Futaba Sakura. The one sent to Kamoshida as gaslight vandalism is created by Ryuji Sakamoto which was criticized of his poor work and the one sent to the Public to summon EMMA into action required the help of a reformed Kuon Ichinose, as Futaba herself cannot hack into its servers alone.
Akira Konoe is the only target of the Phantom Thieves that is not affected by the Phantom Thieves' Calling Cards, as he firmly believes in him being justice incarnate. It was EMMA failure to trap the Phantom Thieves that actually alerted him.
