Café Leblanc 純喫茶ルブラン is a location in Persona 5, as well as the main hub of the game. ==Appearances== *Persona 5 / Royal **Persona 5 (Manga) **Persona 5: Mementos Mission **Persona 5 The Animation The Day Breakers **Persona 5 The Animation *Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight *Persona 5 Strikers *Persona 5 Tactica *Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth ==Profile== ===Persona 5 / Royal=== Leblanc is a café in Yongen-Jaya owned by Sojiro Sakura, famous for its signature coffee and curry. Sojiro used to work for the government, but distanced from them and opened the café in order to hide from the Conspiracy who assassinated his acquaintance Wakaba Isshiki. The curry and coffee's recipes were invented by Sojiro himself, and the current curry recipe was also improved by Wakaba. His adopted daughter (Wakaba's biological daughter), Futaba Sakura is addicted to the curry. The protagonist lives in Leblanc during his one-year probation. He lives in a makeshift room in the café's attic. Morgana also resides in the attic with him after Sojiro Sakura, the owner of the shop and his supervisor, grants him permission. Starting from Futaba's Palace, the Phantom Thieves use Café Leblanc as their hideout for the rest of the story. They use the protagonist's room until after Niijima's Palace, after which they use the downstairs area instead. Leblanc has been frequented by many non-player characters integral to the story for friendly, non-hostile or hostile encounters, such as Sae Niijima, Goro Akechi, Sumire Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki in Royal, and in Strikers, Zenkichi Hasegawa. Facilities within Leblanc cannot be used during the day, but visiting the location will grant the option to skip the day phase and go straight until the evening. When the protagonist has free time on holidays and doesn't go to school, he starts the day off at the attic. However, if the protagonist leaves Leblanc, he cannot perform any activities back inside until the evening. At first, the protagonist cannot leave Leblanc during the night, but as early as April 22nd, Sojiro gives him the permission to roam around Yongen-Jaya, before opening up to Tokyo on May 6th. In Persona 5 Royal, on certain evenings, the protagonist might have a more restricted time slot to perform additional activities, but only within the vicinity of Café Leblanc. Due to minor expansions with certain activities, it is possible for the protagonist to boost any of his Social Stats during those periods, depending on the activity performed. ====Areas of interest (Ground Floor)==== * TV - Airs weekly Home Shopping Program and TV Quiz Show * Coffee siphons - Brew coffee - SP recovery items Royal only; requires Hierophant Confidant Rank 2 * Bean Shelf - Reread any coffee trivia given by Sojiro <!-- not sure if Royal only --> * Booth - Interact with friends who visit Leblanc on certain days, i.e. Ryuji and Yusuke * Counter - Read books, or Study for 2 points of Knowledge * Crossword Puzzles - Solve for one point in Knowledge * Refrigerator - Make curry if there are ingredients, Royal only; requires Hierophant Confidant rank 4. On certain days, has leftover items that can be used in battle. * Phone - Call Sadayo Kawakami (Guts must be rank 3) * Bathroom - Check how close a Social Stat is to ranking up; Royal only) * Floor Space - The protagonist can decorate the floor with a specific item. ====Areas of interest (Attic)==== * Bed - Sleep and progress to the next day. Can sleep in early, which will give the chance to boost a certain Social Stat or a Confidant * TV - Watch a rented DVD or play a video game * Cardboard Box - Obtain downloaded DLC content * Plant - Can be fed nutrients once every 16 days to obtain points in Kindness. Amount varies depending on fertilizer used. * Laptop - Order items from Tanaka's Shady Commodities (must buy Broken Laptop from Yongen-Jaya recycling shop, then fix with PC Tool Set) * Chair/Wooden beam - Train for extra HP (can be boosted if Protein is taken beforehand, activity is performed twice on holidays) * Desk - The protagonist can craft Infiltration Tools. ====List of Customers==== This section lists common customers of Leblanc's: * Pompous Male Customer / Frequent Customer: an arrogant critic. Tries to have people be impressed by his views, but they are generally off the mark. * Young Office Worker & Diligent Office Worker * Bespectacled Office Worker & Middle-aged Office Worker * Goro Akechi: begins to visit sometime during the summer. ===Persona 5 Tactica=== It's said that Toshiro Kasukabe frequented Leblanc to temporarily get away from his father and his arranged fiancee's political meddling. This is also the reason why the safe areas in the Kingdoms all take the form of copies of Cafe Leblanc. ===Persona 5 Strikers=== Leblanc is the gathering point for the Phantom Thieves of Hearts' summer vacation. When Alice Hiiragi was revealed to have been exploited EMMA to mesmerize all of Shibuya's men, it acts as the party's temporary hideout. During subsequent locations, Leblanc is no longer the party's hideout, being replaced by the party's camping van. ===Persona 5 The Animation The Day Breakers=== The Phantom Thieves of Hearts use Café Leblanc to lure in Kazuya Makigami and his gang. They leave a calling card for Kazuya, and set off an alarm that the protagonist got from Munehisa Iwai when they come to rob the store, causing the gang to panic and run away. ===Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth=== Café Leblanc is seen at the start and the end of the game, and is the place where the Phantom Thieves of Hearts enter Mementos from. ==Gallery== <gallery> P5 concept art of Cafe Le Blanc, 01.png|Concept art of Café Leblanc P5 concept art of Cafe Le Blanc, 02.png|Concept art of Café Leblanc MakotoCase.gif|Protagonist's room P5D Cafe Leblanc background.jpg|Café Leblanc background in Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight File:Leblanc (Concept Art 1).png|Concept art (P5T) File:Leblanc (Concept Art 2).png|Concept art 2 (P5T) File:Escaping into Leblanc.png|Escape concept (P5T) File:Rebel Corps Gathered at Hideout.png|Phantom Thieves and Rebel Corps outside of Leblanc File:Abnormality at Leblanc.png|Leblanc (P5T) File:Precious Days.png|Precious Days in Leblanc File:Bg 15010 2160p.png|Leblanc Background File:Bg 11022 2160p.png|Unused Leblanc background (P5T) File:Bg 11041 2160p.png|Leblanc in Marie's Kingdom File:Bg 11270 2160p.png|Leblanc exterior (snow) File:Bg 11280 2160p.png|Leblanc exterior </gallery> ==Trivia== *The café is likely named in reference to Maurice Leblanc, the author of the Arsène Lupin stories. *Unused files in the game indicate that the protagonist was supposed to be able to customize his entire room in Persona 5. However, in the final game, he can only customize his shelf and desk, as well as add lights and some ceiling decoration. *In Persona 5 Royal, the coffee siphons in the shop change to automatic during the third semester. *During January 1 to January 9 in Royal, the "Sayuri" painting vanishes from Leblanc. It returns when the Phantom Thieves choose to deny Maruki's reality. *Although Leblanc doesn't have a direct real-life counterpart in Sangenjaya, inspiration for the cafe may have been drawn from several locations nearby, such as New Marina and Rain On The Roof. There is also a place called Cafe de L'Ambre in Ginza with a somewhat similar internal layout. *Futaba refers to Leblanc as "Japanese-Western fusion" during a Mementos conversation. *In Persona 5: The Phantom X, Leblanc is replaced by a generic café named only as "coffee" and is ran by Ena Kageyama (影山 惠那) instead of Sojiro. *Model-wise, the attic is not physically placed above the café area, but in the back. The stairs act as markers that teleport the player between the two areas. P5 P5D P5S P5T PQ2
