Persona 3 FES

Burning Beetle is encountered as a red Shadow in the second section of Caina within the Abyss of Time during The Answer.

Persona 4 / Golden

Burning Beetle appears on floors 6 and 7 of Yukiko's Castle within the Midnight Channel. When defeated, it may drop Hard Horn. Selling 6 Hard Horns to Daidara will unlock the Shield Boots for Chie Satonaka.

Despite not being set as weaknesses, Burning Beetles are twice as likely to be hit with Light/Dark skills and take double damage from Almighty attacks.

In Golden, Burning Beetle appears on floors 4 through 7 of Yukiko's Castle. It now has access to Tarukaja and will use it to boost its physical attacks. In addition, it is now weak to Light/Dark skills and its ability to reflect physical skills has been downgraded to a mere resistance. When defeated, it may drop Iolite and Hard Horn. Selling 4 Hard Horns at Daidara Metalworks unlocks the Shield Boots.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

Burning Beetle is a strong, rare Shadow that appears in Chapter 3 of You in Wonderland. It may also ambush the party inside P-Spots. It has higher than usual HP, though not on par with F.O.Es, and is capable of attacking twice per turn. As it is prone to doing massive damage to the party at this stage, proceed with caution. Equip sub-Personas with Tarunda to reduce the damage received from it, and pepper it with Ice attacks to kill it quickly. Like with many tough enemies, Poison can accelerate the pace of the fight greatly.

When defeated, it may drop Bug Piece, Bug Horn, and Bug Shell. Bug Piece is used to create the Sabre for the P3 hero, and the Plum Potpourri accessory. Bug Horn is used to create the Splash Shot for Zen and Rei. Bug Shell is used to create the Round Shield for Kanji.
