Bleeding Dry Brush (搾取の偽画, Sakushu no Kei Ga)? is a Support skill. It is an accessory-only skill in Persona 5 Royal.
Effect[]
Bleeding Dry Brush forms a barrier on an ally that can absorb one attack of any type, except for Almighty, Ailment, or Support skills. Additionally, it has the Passive effects of Brush of Vanity, triggering it at the start of battle.
Bleeding Dry Brush technically has 2 effects: it erects an absorptive barrier and also modifies all of the combatant's affinities to Drain. Because of that, even if the combatant's affinities are overwritten (because of Freeze or elemental Break skills), it will not directly negate the effects of the barrier. The barrier takes precedence over Tetrakarn, Makarakarn, and Tetraja, and is used up even if the combatant were able to drain the attack innately.
As long as the affinity changes are active, the combatant is also immune to effects independent from taking damage, such as getting Shocked over melee attacking a Shocked enemy. Additionally, they also make the combatant immune to the Door of Hades's secondary Insta-Kill effect, even if the barrier cannot block the Almighty damage of the attack.
Per Persona 5's standard mechanic on draining abilities, if the combatant's own attack is repelled back, the barrier will simply block the attack without restoring HP.

Etymology[]
This skill's Japanese name, which translates to "Fleecing Forgery" (搾取の偽画*)? comes from how Ichiryusai Madarame fleeces his pupils and creates forgeries of "Sayuri."
Its English name derives from Madarame figuratively "bleeding his students dry" of artistic motivation by forging their works or abuse them until they commit suicide.
