Bes is an Egyptian deity that is the protector of households, especially women and children. Enemy of all that is bad and defender of everything good. While originally represented as a lion on his hind legs, later depictions transformed him into a squat, black-skinned figure with abundant fur.
Kaneko's design for Bes draws inspiration from various interpretations of the deity. He can also be seen wearing a medallion with the Eye of Horus due to his mythological origin.

"A pygmy-sized Egyptian god. He is said to bring good luck. While a minor god compared to the other Egyptian gods, he was worshiped by many folk. He started off as a protector of the pharaoh, but eventually became the protector of all households, regardless of social status. He is also a god of fertility and helps mothers giving birth. He protects newborn children and is said to appear dancing around mothers ready to give birth."

Bes is found in the Future of Tenkai after entering Time's Edge from the Tower of Babel. However the requirement for him to appear must be done first. A NPC in the northeast house in Midkingdom will have a question with three possible answers. Depending on the choice starting from the first one he will either be Normal, Power, or Magic based. Normal Bes has the power Survival, Power Bes the power Magnify, and Magic Bes the power Focus.
