The bed also known as Sleep is a mechanic in the series.
Appearances[]
Profile[]
Usually, when the protagonist has used up their two slots of free time for the day, or if they aren't free during 1 or more of the respective time slots, they will be too tired to continue. As such, they will have to interact with the bed to move time forward to the next day.
Shin Megami Tensei IV[]
Flynn can rest inside Mikado Castle on Barracks to heal himself and his demons without consuming time.
Persona 3[]
Both the male and female protagonist can go to bed early to recover their status or improve their status in case they're sick, tired or have a great condition to fight in Tartarus.
Going to bed early will also take the night but will help the protagonist do more activities at night.
The protagonists are also able to sleep during class sessions and will not consume time but the protagonist won't gain any Social Stats.
Persona 5[]
In regular circumstances, where the protagonist's bed is mainly used to move. This applies for evenings where the protagonist has no free time, which can be telegraphed by the protagonist spawning inside his attic rather than entering from the bottom floor of Leblanc. If the protagonist returns from a Metaverse visit and passes the night, the bed won't be directly interacted with, but rather interacting with the attic from the ground floor will be enough to prompt skipping the night.
Despite its normal purpose, the protagonist is also able to go to bed early, which will always move him forward one day. If he does, he may experience a dream, which may boost his Social Stats, or one that may boost his relationship with another Confidant.
The content of the dreams for Social Stat boosts depends on the time period during specific Palace arcs and whether it's before or after its Treasure has been stolen. As such, the relevant stat might change, unless there's a repeat. The boost is always 1 note.

The protagonist having a nightmare.
For the dreams boosting Confidant relationships, the respective character is randomly selected from the list of established Confidants, with the exception of maxed out Confidants, automatic ones like Igor, and ones that can only be boosted via tasks, like with Caroline & Justine. The contents of the dream is randomized as well; the messages themselves do not differ in terms of in-game effects. Normally, the point gain from dreaming normally is 2, but it can be boosted to 3 points from outside factors, such as having a Persona from the same Arcana as the Confidant and having scored high on Exams. Additionally, it is possible to experience nightmares instead, in which case nothing will happen. In some of these nightmare scenarios, Morgana will be sleeping on him.
Confidant dreams can also be accessed while sleeping in class, assuming Sadayo Kawakami's Confidant has been ranked up high enough.
