Beast (魔獣, Majū, lit. "Demon Beast") is a race of demons in the Shin Megami Tensei series. This race contains mythical animals from various legends that are neither considered sacred nor evil but retain more naturally bestial behaviors. Cerberus and Nekomata are the most recurring demons from this race in the entire series and both play some roles in the plots occasionally.

Devil Survivor 2

Beasts have the Animal Leg Racial Skill, which passively grants the team an additional chance to move after a skirmish. Stronger Beasts have this skill changed to Free Leap, which also allows the team to escape during the Extra Turn phase, regardless of whether team members have an Extra Turn or not. This allows the team to escape taking additional damage from bosses that sport absurdly long attack ranges.
