Details[]
Bandit Chief Cistus is a paripus man who is the founder of an apocalyptic cult of bandits that appeared during the final month of the game. The cult headquarters is in the Disgraced Ruins and it believes that people will be reincarnated to another world once they die. The bandits under him went to urban areas, including the Royal Capital, to attack and kill people in hopes of "saving" them and there are even people who sympathized with their ideologies, forcing the recruitment centre to issue an assassination bounty on him. Even worse, there were rumors that they secured themselves a "weapon" that they planned on using to attack the capital. According to informants, Cistus is greedy and thus can be prevented from making a move by Merchant Archetypes and their attacks.
The protagonist can take on the bounty pertaining Cistus, "The Apostles of the Apocalypse" during the final month of the game alongside two other quests pertaining to Ordemos and Kokamordos, where they must assassinate him and hand the recruitment center his axe. Once the party reaches Cistus, he reveals that there is no "weapon," but a "God of Salvation" which alarmed Heismay. He then attacks the party, claiming that he will kill them before killing himself as well. When confronted, he is accompanied by two bandits and may summon more. After the three bandits were all slain, Basilio remarks that they did not have the intent to kill despite their words and were merely acting in self-defense and the fight was a relative pushover. A medium-sized human then shows up to attack the party, revealing that the cult planned on releasing the creature on the capital in hopes of it indiscriminately killing everyone inside it.
Strategy[]
As noted by informants, Cistus is greedy and using a Merchant's attacks can force Cistus and his subordinates to waste turns enticed by money. The Merchant's basic attacks can also be used to hit Cistus's slim subordinates for extra turns.
