Avatar or Godly Beast (神獣, Shinjū) is a race of demons in the Shin Megami Tensei series. They are very powerful gods that have the form of beasts or animals. They are strong and fierce, and dedicated to rooting out and destroying evil. Unlike Holy Beast race, Godly Beast is usually the god's avatar in the bestial form rather than the subordinate animal associates with the god itself.
