Atropos is the eldest of the three Moirae Sisters, and was known as "the Inflexible One". She is the one who cuts the thread of fate, signifying the end of one's life. They controlled the destiny of every living mortal and it was thought that even Zeus was subject to their will, unable to change it; in a few myths, however, Zeus was named "Moiragetes", i.e. controller of the Fates.
In mythology, it is said that she appears with her sisters within three days of a baby's birth to decide its fate. Her Roman equivalent was Morta. According to Hesiod's Theogony, she and her sisters (Lachesis and Clotho) are the daughters of Nyx and Erebus. In other accounts, they are said to be the daughters of Zeus and Themis as well as several other beings such as Chaos and Ananke.
Atropos, along with her sisters and Hermes, was given credit for creating the alphabet for their people, forced the goddess Aphrodite into making love with other beings, weakened the monster Typhon with poison fruit, persuaded Zeus to kill Asclepius with lightning, and even aided the gods in their war with the Giants by killing Agrius and Thoas with bronze clubs. Even though Atropos and her sisters were worshiped as goddesses, their representation of fate is more central to their role in mythology.
She is the most known sister, due to her job. Atropos was the smallest in stature, but the eldest and as some believe, the most powerful and cruel. Once those ends are cut by her razor sharp scissors, it is impossible to tie them back together. With this, she is also treated as a goddess of death.
Kaneko's design for Lachesis and the other Moirae Sisters draws inspiration from the works of British fashion designer Antonio Berardi, who in turn was inspired by French hair stylist Nicholas Jurnjack. The relevant work of Berardi can be seen here.

Atropos acts as one of the three bosses of Nakano's silver-level Stone Site instance. By obtaining the Red Thread of Fate from the endchest, players are able to obtain her plug-in by speaking with the Suspicious Looking Man? NPC. Atropos is a special double-fusion of Lamia and Celaeno.
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey[]

Atropos can be found within the Tennozu Shelter, alongside her sisters Clotho and Lachesis. She has a combo of sorts with Clotho. Should Clotho put a party member to sleep with her Lullaby skill, Atropos will use Eternal Rest to kill them instantly.
Atropos can teach the Eternal Rest, Hamaon, Bufudyne and Ziodyne skills through her Demon Whisper. She benefits from learning Ice, Electricity and Light skills.
Persona 4 The Animation[]
Atropos is the Persona that represents the bond between Yu and Naoto. It was used briefly in the Heaven dungeon during the battle against Kunino-sagiri, although Yu was possessed when it was first summoned. She unleashed a powerful Magarudyne that injured everyone, sans Yosuke and Jiraiya.

Atropos cannot learn Dodge Fire via level up anymore, with Ziodyne taking its place. When itemized during a fusion alarm, Atropos will yield a Ziodyne Skill Card instead.
