The party dining in the restaurant
The party dining in the restaurant

Asshouken (圧勝軒) is a location in Persona 5 series.

Appearances[]

Profile[]

Persona 5: The Phantom X[]

Located in Shinjuku, Asshouken is a popular ramen restaurant well-known for its high-quality ramen. It is considered as the branch of Toraiken, and its owner Masa was once an apprentice of Yamagoshi, the founder and owner of Toraiken.

Chapter 2: Battle of Dreams & Flavor[]

In chapter 2 of the main story, the protagonist, Motoha Arai and Ruferu visit Asshouken to celebrate their success in changing Takeyuki Kiuchi's heart and stealing his Treasure. Shun Kano is also inside the restaurant, being in a hurry to get out after finishing his ramen. While there, the food critic, Hiromu Miyazawa, arrives at the restaurant to "review" the establishment. The party gets kicked out early, as the impatient and demanding Miyazawa doesn't want anyone in the restaurant present to get in his way.

It is revealed later that Assouken is currently under the control of Miyazawa, who forces Masa to replace the high-quality katsuobushi used in the soup of their ramen with cheap ones, and regularly pay Miyazawa a certain amount of money for him to spare the place. According to Shun, it started with him, who was a part-timer at Asshouken back then, spreading water onto Miyazawa's face when he heard Miyazawa slandering Asshouken's ramen. The irritated Miyazawa left harshly bad comments of Asshouken on his channel, which seriously hurt its operation. In order to save the place from shutting down, remorse Masa had no choice but let Shun go from the job, temporary and let Miyazawa take over the control, But none of the restaurant staff blame Shun for this incident, as he just did what they couldn't to Miyazawa.

Upon the completion of changing Miyazawa's heart, Miyazawa confesses his wrongdoings in public and announces his will to make up for the restaurants and owners that he trapped. With this, Asshouken is back to Masa's hand, Shun came back to work and regains its high rates that truly fits the quality of ramen it serves.

After completing Chapter 2, Asshouken is open as the location of a city activity, in which the protagonist takes a challenge for a fee. Similar to the Big Bang Challenge in Persona 5 / Royal, the challenge consisting of three difficulties demands the protagonist to eat a huge bowl of ramen within 30 minutes, and cost the protagoist diffrently depending on the difficulty levels (¥1,200 for the 1st challenge, ¥1,500 for the 2nd, and ¥1,800 for the 3rd in daytime; ¥500 discount for all levels at night). Each level requires the protagonist to have his Proficiency, Knowledge, and Guts reach a certain rank to beat the challenge respectively. After the first time of beating each level of challenges, the protagonist will be awarded a certain amount of money depending on the difficulty.

Chapter 3: Concert For Rulebreakers[]

When Motoha realizes that Asshouken is busy, Shun says the business is now restored to its peak with people praising the return of the ramen's original flavor, happy to see this prove that people really do want genuinely delicious food. Riko Tanemura gets to have her first ramen there.
