History

Ameretat (Immortality) is one of the Amesha Spentas from Zoroastrian mythology. She is the personification of long life on earth and perpetuality in the afterlife. Ameretat is a close ally of Haurvatat. The seventh day of every month and the fifth month are dedicated to her. Ameretat and Haurvatat represent the reward of the righteous after death and together protect plant life and water.

Ameretat's eternal opponent is the demon of hunger, Shud.
