Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa (c. 63 BC – 12 BC) was a Roman statesman and general. He was a close friend, son-in-law, lieutenant and defense minister to Octavian, the future Emperor Caesar Augustus. He was responsible for most of Octavian’s military victories, most notably winning the naval Battle of Actium against the forces of Mark Antony and Cleopatra VII of Egypt.

Agrippa (アグリッパ, Agurippa)? is a demon in the series.

History

Agrippa is based on Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, a German magician, occultist, alchemist, humanist, and early feminist. He wrote a book called Female Pre-eminence: Or the Dignity and Excellency of that Sex, above the Male in which he declared that: “…the noble and delicate Feminine Race, does most to infinity excel that rougher, boisterous kind, the Male.” He also contributed to the original legend of Faust and Mephistopheles.
